Village School. Paperback, 1995
From 1971-72 I spent at least two days every week of the school year photographing this rural village school in Sussex with some 30 infant and junior pupils. After years of involvement in reporting violence, I wanted to reaffirm, if only to myself, the importance and satisfaction of photographing more normal, everyday life. It was not an assignment but a labour of love.
